I enjoyed a lengthy career as a Recreation Coordinator for the city of Greenville, NC. In that position I organized and managed recreation programs for children and supervised gyms and centers that provided services to children. Following a 30-year career in that role, my husband and I built a home in Indian Beach, NC. We opened a small gift shop in Atlantic Beach called Beachcombers and enjoyed that experience for 10 years. Throughout my work in the field of recreation I have been interested in developing skills in a variety of artistic areas. I spent time learning to do basketry and was very pleased with what I was able to accomplish. I have been involved with counted cross stitch and needlepoint for many years. I have recently enjoyed working with resin. I also have spent a good deal of time developing my skills in crocheting and felting. I took classes a few years ago in air-dried clay sculptures and enjoy using that medium to produce unique and unusual faces! I have most recently enjoyed learning to produce interesting and complex designs using small loom weaving. As you can clearly see from this bio, what I enjoy most is exploring a wide variety of art forms and mediums.
