Dale Quidley
Dale Quidley was born and raised in New Bern and spent 37 years working at Cherry Point. She retired December 2016 with the words of her mother so many years ago ringing in her ears "never forget that you have art in your blood", you see her mother and great-uncle had been artist in their life times. Dale had never thought about art through the years but now, with time on her hands, she started thinking about it and wondering how to get started. On her 64th birthday she met a lovely woman who invited her, out of the blue, to a "little painting group" that she belonged to and never the one to pass up casual over official classroom Dale attended and there she found her purpose and great love...painting. She went home from the first group meeting and started looking up photos of birds because they had detail and she wanted to paint detail and from there she went to dogs and lighthouses and people and everything she could find with detail. Her love of painting has led her to donate a number of paintings to Craven County animal shelters and to the Craven County Sheriff's Department as they look out for and protect her second love...animals.
