Debra Pagliughi. “A Swansboro resident for over 40 years, Debra received her degree in marine biology from UNCW, taught 7th grade science for three years, then “remembered” that she wanted to be an artist. Throughout her 30 plus years as an artist, Debra explored many mediums and disciplines including graphic art, illustration, painting, printmaking, metalwork, fused glass sculpture and jewelry. Currently, and for the past decade or more, she focuses mainly on fused recycled glass and enameled copper.” “The copper pieces are imprinted, chased and repoussed and enameled with ground glass. The glass is fused from recycled windows and bottle glass with copper, fine silver, enamels and assorted natural materials.”
