- I started painting when I was in 3rd grade. I did it so much that my parents figured out I was
serious and I started taking a few private art classes. I always had art materials on hand and I
always had something I was painting or making. I took every art class in school very seriously
sometimes to the detriment of other classes. I eventually married and had two beautiful children
and went to Art School at East Carolina University. I started teaching Art in 1992 and have just
recently retired. I now have time to do my favorite thing,PAINT!!
It is the most fulfilling thing. My degree was a concentration in ceramics and teaching school. I
loved watching my students get excited about their work because I knew just how they felt. A
lot of my work is related to the ocean and its wonderful creatures as well as birds whose eyes
just fascinate me. It is something I will do until I cannot do it anymore.
